 2017 Calendar of Events

The purpose of California’s First Chapter of ATHA shall be to develop and promote interest in rug hooking, to maintain the highest standards by taking classes, sharing information and aspiring to better our personal abilities, and to sponsor rug exhibits and events to educate others.

January 13-15 Weekend Retreat at Miracle Springs Resort

We will be taking a much needed break from our holiday work! Saturday is a Hooking Event with the rest of the weekend an oily rub-in, soak, or snooze fest. Hook and relax to your heart’s content.

February 18 Back in Hot Water

Add a twist of lime to your hooking. Sandra Grasso will demonstrate a little dyeing of “something old” using a Cushing color, Chartreuse.

March 18 Wool Bingo

Did someone say GAME DAY??!!! Join us for the rolling numbers and a chance to win more WOOL for your stash. Donna Nino will dye for us using a spot dye method.

April 15 Super Auction

Bring your new or used things for Jean Hyman to get top dollar for! All proceeds benefit your Chapter events and purposes

May 20 “Short & Sweet”

Punch needle with Jane Artinian. All hands on deck for the “Redlands Festival of Arts” demonstration! AND “In the Frying Pan” with Carol Brandon.

  • Redlands Festival of Arts at Smiley Park, May 27th & 28th from 10-5
June 17 Open Hooking and Beginner classes.

  • Demonstrating at the Lavender Festival in Cherry Valley June 9, 10 & 11th and 16, 17 & 18th

 

 

July 15 Summer Vacation and Beginner Classes


August 19 Carla Fortney will show you how Hue, Value and Intensity are one of the most valuable applications to your rug hooking success.

 

September 16 Workshop Preparations

December 9 The Christmas Party!   The 2nd Saturday of the month so you can enjoy the day hooking, sharing your holiday plans and all the additional joy of being with friends.
